Day 4: writing schedule 9-29

Day 4: Today I went through the first half of the book, found the two weak chapters and made a plan on how to finish the first half.

Day 1: monday 9-29Pacing Pass 1: The Stag Party Setup8 hrsFocus entirely on Chapter 8–10. Remove all explanatory history. Convert every moment of telling the hierarchy into a moment of showing it through Marie’s observation or clipped dialogue.
Day 2: tuesday 9-30Pacing Pass 1: Card Game and Miami8 hrsFocus on Chapter 19 (Card Game) and Chapter 22 (Miami). Cut unnecessary dialogue and detail. Ensure every line pushes the plot: Norman’s nerve in the card game, and Sam Johns’s expansion needs in Miami.
Day 3 wednesday 10-1Content Pass: Protagonist Focus8 hrsReview all chapters (1–24) where the camera is on a mobster (Gino, Sam Johns, Pepe). Ensure the scene always transitions back to how the action increases the danger for Elaine or Marie—not just the mob’s business.
Day 4 thursday 10-2Voice & Flow Pass (Ch. 1–12)8 hrsPerform a detailed line-edit on the first 12 chapters. Look for redundant adjectives, passive voice, and slow sentences. Ensure Elaine’s psychological state feels raw and immediate.
Day 5 friday 10- 3Voice & Flow Pass (Ch. 13–24)8 hrsPerform a detailed line-edit on the second half of the section (Chapters 13–24). Ensure Marie’s growing ambition feels believable and that the tension consistently escalates toward the Chapter 24 climax.
Day 6 monday10-6Final Review (Read Aloud)8 hrsPrint the entire 24-chapter section and read it aloud. Mark every single instance where you stumble, lose the rhythm, or have to mentally re-read a sentence.
Day 7 monday 10-7Final Fixes & Seal4–6 hrsExecute the final corrections from your “Read Aloud” pass. Lock in the file and mentally shift your focus to writing the second half.
